Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PhotoFramr ("we," "our," or "us") handles information when you use our website and image editing tool. We are committed to protecting your privacy and processing as little personal data as possible.
1. Information We Collect
Images You Edit
We do not collect, store, or process any images you edit in PhotoFramr. All image processing — including AI features like background removal and upscaling — runs locally inside your browser. Your images never leave your device. No image data is transmitted to our servers or to any third party by PhotoFramr itself.
Usage Data (Analytics)
We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to collect anonymous information about how the site is used. This may include:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Approximate geographic location (country/city level, derived from IP address)
- Referring website
This information is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally. IP addresses are anonymized before storage.
Browser Local Storage
PhotoFramr saves two small pieces of data in your browser's local storage:
- photoframr_theme: Your preference for light or dark mode (value: "light" or "dark")
- photoframr_cookie_ok: Whether you have acknowledged the cookie notice
This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.
2. Cookies and Advertising
This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
Types of Cookies Used
- Strictly necessary: Local storage for theme preference and cookie consent status
- Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the site
- Advertising: Google AdSense cookies for serving relevant ads
You can control and manage cookies in your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of this site or the relevance of ads shown.
3. Third-Party Services
Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google collects data about your browsing behavior to serve personalized ads. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Hugging Face (AI Models)
AI features in PhotoFramr (background removal and image upscaling) use models hosted on Hugging Face Hub. When you use these features for the first time, your browser downloads the model files directly from Hugging Face servers. This download is subject to Hugging Face's privacy policy. No image data is sent to Hugging Face — only the model files are downloaded, and all image processing happens locally in your browser.
jsDelivr (CDN)
We use jsDelivr to load the Transformers.js library used by our AI features. jsDelivr may log your IP address as part of standard CDN operation.
4. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access personal data we hold about you
- Right to request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to request deletion of your data
- Right to object to processing of your data
- Right to data portability
- Right to withdraw consent at any time
Because we collect minimal personal data (primarily through analytics and advertising cookies), exercising most of these rights can be accomplished by managing your browser's cookie settings or by opting out of Google's advertising cookies using the links in Section 2.
5. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 14 months before automatic deletion, in accordance with Google Analytics data retention settings. Local storage data (theme preference, cookie consent) is retained until you clear your browser's site data.
6. Children's Privacy
PhotoFramr is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information about a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of PhotoFramr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
